Assessment Description
Students will be divided into small groups of 3 or 4. Students will work together in their groups to plan and create a jeopardy game using JeopardyLabs. Students must provide accurate questions and answers. Students are given a rubric at the beginning of the project. Each student must complete a self assessment along with an assessment for each group member. These assessments will only be shared with the teacher. Students are provide the following example: Factoring Jeopardy.
Rationale for Assessment ChoiceThis is the third method students are working with in the factoring module. This is the time in the module that students start experiencing more challenging problems. Having students work in groups allows for assistance from classmates. Students are given the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills by planning and creating a new tool. Students not only need to create the problems and answers, but they also must find a logical way to group the different problems.

Rationale for Tool ChoiceJeopardyLabs allows students to create an interactive assessment for future classes. It is a quick and easy tool. In creating the assessment, students are practicing the concepts and deepening their understanding.

JeopardyLabs (https://jeopardylabs.com) is a free and easy to use website that allows users to find or create jeopardy games without the need for PowerPoint. Users have the option of building a new template or using an existing template.
When choosing to use an existing template, the user can search using key words or scroll through the list of all templates available. Existing jeopardy template can also be modified to meet specific needs.
When choosing to create a new jeopardy template, the user starts with a ready to use template. When finished filling in the questions and categories of choice, simply save. The template automatically displays only the categories and questions that were used.
