Final Thoughts
As I stated in my introduction, this has been a challenging but rewarding experience. It felt very similar to training and running a half marathon. Although I have run many times before, each race is a new experience filled with challenges and rewards. The anticipation at the starting line mirrors my anticipation at the start of this project. I have been teaching math for eight years, but this was a new and different experience.
Many firsts have taken place throughout this process. I created my first concept map. I selected tools that I had no previous experience with. I imagined teaching math in a completely new world. All of these things have been challenging. These challenges have created growth. I’m excited to see these different ideas come to life in a classroom environment. I have gone from being terrified of new technology to being called “tech savvy” by classmates. I can only hope that my fellow teachers and future students are as excited about this new adventure. -Tania Basten |
