Course Description
The course I currently teach is Integrated Mathematics II. This is an integrated curriculum that connects math to real life situations. Each unit covers a different aspect of math. The topics in this course include: Probability, Statistics, Linear Functions, Coordinate Geometry, Matrices, Nonlinear Functions, and Trigonometry. Students in this course have already experienced
Integrated Mathematics I and are building on the concepts acquired in this course.
I would like to take one of the more challenging units, Nonlinear Functions and Equations, and create an online course. This course has six modules, as seen in the following diagram.

I am focusing on Module 3: Factoring Quadratics. Students will be learning how to take any quadratic equation and factor it. This will allow students to solve real world problems involving quadratic equations.
The majority of the students in Integrated Mathematics II are high school sophomores. Their ability levels are quite diverse. They range from students who have moved on without successfully passing the previous course to students who have dropped down from the advanced track. Students have been working with iPads in school since at least 6th grade. They are all comfortable and competent with technology.
